As a huge fan of Korean beauty products, I couldn’t help but noticed how much more attention it’s gotten here in America. I remember the only access I had to these products was through either eBay or going to South Korea. But now I can easily just walk into the nearest Urban Outfitters and can find some products from Korean brands like Tony Moly, the Face Shop and more.
For those lucky enough, some places like New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Dallas and Houston have some Korean beauty stores like Skin Food, the Face Shop, Nature Republic and Tony Moly. I was fortunate enough to have visited NYC this past summer and was able to go to the opening of the Tony Moly. It was just amazing to see these stores I was only able to shop in Korea, here in the USA.
As for Austinites, the Face Shop is much closer than we think. Just a trip away to either Houston or Dallas and it’s a jackpot for the Face Shop products. While prices are a bit more than what you can get them for in Korea, the fact that they are available right in front of you will make you forget that detail. If you want to make a longer drive up to Dallas, you will definitely not be disappointed. At the H Mart in Dallas, there are mini stores in the market that have even more Korean beauty brands, such as Missha, Mamonde, Aritaum and more.
So even though we aren’t in Korea, with the rise of Korean beauty products in the USA, it’s becoming way more accessible now than it was in the past. And hey I’m not complaining. Let’s keep it coming!
