Well everyone, as you all know KCon LA was just this past weekend and I was lucky enough to be able to attend! It was something I feel every K-Pop fan should experience one day. The convention and concert are so much fun and you can’t resist trying out all the food and K-Beauty products.
1. Plan your time accordingly!
From getting to wherever you are staying to the Staples Center and Los Angeles Convention Center, to waiting in the line to get your registration bag, it will take a big chunk of your time. It took my friend and I about three hours in the line to get our registration items. Thankfully, we were able to be in the shade for most of the time! It was all worth it once we were able to go inside and explore the convention. There were so many different booths. From beauty to food, there was something there for everyone to enjoy.
Pro tip: Remember to always wear some comfortable shoes.
2. The K-Beauty section of the KCon convention will get you in trouble.
Honestly, the moment I saw this section at the convention my heart exploded with joy. As you all should know, I am completely obsessed with K-Beauty and there were so many amazing brands there. A few were Memebox, The Face Shop, Tony Moly and Aritaum. A lot of these brands also had that you could spin a wheel they had and win some products! I did buy a Memebox x KCon beauty box and of course some BB cushion makeup. I have been so obsessed with them and the one I bought is The Face Shop x Kakao Talk collection! It’s so cute.
3. Be ready to wait in line for a long time in you have GA tickets.
So in my typically fangirl fashion, I had to get the tickets that could get me close to the stage as possible and I was fortunate to get P2 GA tickets. What that also meant was that I was going to have to wait in line for a good chunk of the time I was in LA. The first concert night line wasn’t too bad, but I still queued up around 11:30 a.m. The second night was a different story with queuing up at 8:00 a.m. and the line still being really long. You just got to think of the end goal though!
Pro tip: Remember to bring an umbrella, small towel. Always remember to stay hydrated! You don’t want to get sick before seeing your favorite idol!
4. You will meet lots of new people and make new friends!
The thing I love most about going to these events is you get to meet and make so many new friends! Either during the convention or while waiting in the line, I was able to meet so many amazing people. They all share the same excitement for this event. Shout out to the people I met, they held my spot in line as I got food and by day two, we had something called “The Alliance”. I hope I get to see them again soon!
5. That amazing feeling getting to see your favorite K-Pop idol in person.
It’s not everyday we get to see our favorite K-Pop idols, so when the opportunity arises we all all have to take it! Getting to see some of these groups and my favorite songs live was amazing. To top it off, I ended up really close to the stage both nights. If I was able to relive this experience again, I would definitely take it.
